I Never Cease to be Amazed

My daughter and I drove to the mountains last week. As we were standing in the midst of mountains I looked around at the beauty that surrounded us. Looking at the mountains, the trees, the plants, the birds, and the deer, I thought to myself how can anyone NOT believe in God. Each rock, animal, and plant is so unique and different. Yet there are so many who believe this all came about by accident. I shook my head in shame. Why is it so hard for so many to believe? How can anyone not see His amazing work? God tells us to have faith in Him even though we don't see Him with our eyes but we do see Him. We see Him in His works, His miracles, His wonders every day, hour, and second of our lives. All we have to do is look around.

If you were to set a box in front of someone who doesn’t believe in God and show them that inside the box are all the parts to make a watch but they are all separate. Then tell them we are going to tape this box up and one day someone will open it and see a watch all put together and running perfectly they would look at you like you were crazy. Now tell me why is this any more crazy than believing that the world just appeared out of nothing and from nothing formed the billion of animals and plants that make up this planet. In all reality I believe the watch has better odds of coming together in a million years than the animals, plants and people that are on this planet.

As humans we are known by our works. People judge others daily according to what they do, what they have to show for themselves, how they react, etc. Even from the Bible we know our works are important. There are 224 verses with the word “works” in the Bible. You can see a few of them below. So if are works are important and show who we are can we not say that God’s works show who He is. We may not have seen God face to face but we have seen God through His works. And His works are mighty and beautiful and even frightening at times but to deny that all of the wonders on this planet are not the works of a mighty God is a sad, sad thing.

Joh 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

Joh 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Act 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We are not saved by our works but we are know by our works.

Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
